Go Leicestershire
The new official visitor guide book for Leicester and Leicestershire has been published.
Entitled "Go Leicestershire", this colourful free booklet is published by Leicester Shire Promotions.
In its 84 pages, the booklet is divided into "Great Ideas for Getting Away", "Places to Go", "Events 2007", "Where to Stay", "Win a Fabulous Family Break" and "Planning Your Break".
Some of the places highlighted under "Family Days Out" include Conkers: Snibston Discovery Park; Twinlakes; the National Space Centre; Stonehurst Farm; Twycross Zoo; and Tropical Birdland.
Highlighted in "Gardens, Parks and Nature" are such places as Gates Nurseries; Woodlands Nurseries; Barnsdale Gardens; Bradgate Park; and the Harold Martin Botanic Garden.
"Museums and Galleries" includes the New Walk Museum; Abbey Pumping Station; Guildhall; and Jewry Wall Museum.
Under "History and Heritage" the entries include Bosworth Battlefield; Belvoir Castle; Ashby-de-la-Zouch Castle; Oakham Castle; Leicester Cathedral; and the Great Central Railway.
Under "Waterways", entries include the Ashby Trip; Rutland Water; and the Rutland Belle.
"Places to Shop and Eat" includes Gibson's Grey Lady Restaurant; Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe; and Leicester Market.
