Melton Mowbray Station (Melton Mowbray)
Melton Mowbray Station serves the splendid market town of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.
It is situated in Burton End, only a few minutes walk from the Market Place.
Melton Mowbray is on a busy cross country line. Trains come from Birmingham and Leicester, and continue to Oakham, Stamford, Peterborough, Ely, Cambridge and Stansted Airport.
Another line formerly ran to Nottingham. This track was until recently used as a test track for high speed trains.
There was another station on a different line. This was close to the Cattle Market, and closed in 1953. Trains on this line ran to Hallaton and Market Harborough in the South, and Newark in the North.
