Old Leigh
Old Leigh is a delightful old fishing and shipbuilding village in Essex, which is now part of the Borough of Southend.
Now also a seaside resort, it is the Western end of the seven miles of seafront at Southend.
Famous today are the cockles and other sea food caught and sold here.
It is believed that the "Mayflower" was built at Old Leigh.
John Fowles, the novelist, was born in the town.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Old Leigh for groups.
