Waterside Hinckley (A Guided Walk in Hinckley)

“Waterside Hinckley” is one of the very popular series of Waterside Walks devised and led by the well-known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These strolls are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

The starting point for this walk is Trinity Marina, outside the restaurant. This is situated off Coventry Road in Hinckley.

The walk takes in part of the Ashby Canal, which was designed to run without locks from the Coventry Canal to Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

There is also a short walk beside Watling Street, the Roman road which was at one time the frontier between Danish England and English England, and is still the county boundary between Leicestershire and Warwickshire.

Colin also leads a walk around the town centre, which is simply entitled “Hinckley”.

And he leads a number of other Waterside Walks, namely “Waterside Abbey Park”, “Waterside Aylestone”, “Waterside Belgrave”, “Waterside Birstall”, “Waterside Charnwood”, “Waterside Glenhills”, “Waterside Glen Parva”, “Waterside Leicester”, “Waterside London”, “Waterside Loughborough”, “Waterside Loughborough and Barrow-upon-Soar”, “Waterside Market Harborough”, “Waterside Mountsorrel”, “Waterside Quorn and Barrow-upon-Soar”, “Waterside Thurmaston” and “Waterside West End”.
