St. Peters Church (Mountsorrel)
St. Peter's is one of the two parish churches in the Leicestershire village of Mountsorrel.
St. Peter's is the church for the North End of the village, while Christ Church, at the top of the Village Green, serves the South End.
Although it is a mediaeval church, it has only actually been the parish church since the 19th century. Before then, like neighbouring Quorn, it came under the jurisdiction of Barrow-upon-Soar.
The dedication was changed in the Middle Ages, having previously been St. John's.
It is mostly built of Mountsorrel granite. The tower is mediaeval, but there was considerable alteration in the late 18th century.
There is a fine slate clock on the tower.
