The Ghosts of Christmas (A Guided Walk in Leicester)

“The Ghosts of Christmas” is a Guided Walk in Leicester devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These strolls are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

Around Christmas, one of the most popular pursuits is the telling of spine-chilling ghost stories, and this walk continues that tradition.

The walk starts outside Leicester Town Hall, and takes in some of the oldest parts of what is one of England’s oldest towns, dating back to Roman times.

There will be stories of phantoms that lurk in the shadows of Leicester itself, and these will be joined by tales specifically linked to the Christmas season.

Probably the best known of storytellers involving Christmas was Charles Dickens, who of course wrote “A Christmas Carol”, featuring that wonderful character Ebenezer Scrooge.

Colin will be alluding to the works of Dickens and others during the walk, and will be inviting contributions from any of the party who have had ghostly experiences at this time of year.

Colin leads other Haunted Walks in Leicester and the surrounding area, including “Haunted Leicester”, “The Haunted City”, “The Haunted City”, “The Shades of Night”, “Goosepimples” (with children in mind), “Tales for Halloween” and “Haunted Belgrave”, and in LondonHaunted London” and “The Haunted Capital”.

Other walks with a Christmas theme include “The Holly and the Ivy”, “Ding Dong Merrily on High”, “Deck the Halls” and “Mediaeval Leicester at Christmas”.
