Charnwood Forest Tour (A Coach Trip in Leicestershire)

[An image showing Charnwood Forest Tour]"Charnwwod Forest Tour" is one of the many Coach Trips devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These trips are a most enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

It is one of the morning trips, which stay around the Leicestershire area, and are popular with people who would rather not be out all day.

This particular tour is around Charnwood Forest, the attractive upland area to the North West of Leicester and to the South West of Loughborough, whose granite rocks are among the oldest in the world.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, in Leicester, at 9.30am, and returns at about 2pm.

The format for these morning tours is that one stays on the coach almost all the time, while Colin gives his customary commentary, this being one of the aspects which makes his trips unique. About halfway round (usually about 11.30am), there is a stop at a nice location, where tea, coffee, cakes etc can be bought.

Attractive villages in the Charnwood Forest area include Mountsorrel; Newtown Linford; Rothley; Shepshed; and Woodhouse Eaves.
