Outstanding Coach Trip to Wonderful Norwich
Once again, I organised a Coach Trip for Leicester people recently to one of England`s outstanding cities. This time the destination was Norwich.
If you didn`t come, you missed a treat.
Having left St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre, we made our way Eastwards through Rutland towards Norfolk, and of course I gave a commentary along the way.
There is always a stop in the morning, where those taking part can buy tea, coffee, cakes etc. I always make sure that it is somewhere not only nice, but interesting as well. This time it was the excellent Visitor Centre at Sandringham.
Once we arrived at Norwich, I led the Guided Walk, pointing out some of the many places of interest in this historic city. These of course included the lovely Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Castle, the enormous Market Place, Tombland, Elm Hill, the Colman`s Mustard Shop and Museum and some of the staggering number of surviving mediaeval churches.
I was also able to recommend some good places for refreshments during the afternoon, including a department store, a friary and a fish and chip shop.
On the way back to Leicester, we stopped at the excellent Farm Cafe at Fleet Hargate.
Everybody had a great time, as can be seen from some of the comments in my Visitors` Book. These included "interesting trip and walk as usual", "a very enjoyable trip with an extremely interesting talk", "we keep coming so we must enjoy it", "a really grand day out, enjoyed the stop at Sandringham, saw bits of Norwich I never knew existed", "first coach trip we've done, so good Colin, we look forward to another trip", "very informative, Norwich has so much to offer".
There is another Coach Trip Saturday 30th May, when we will be visiting Southwold, the delightful little seaside town on the Suffolk coast, including a Guided Walk.
Don`t miss it!
