Everyone Loved the Rutland Tour

[An image showing Everyone Loved the Rutland Tour]I led one of my morning Coach Trips recently - this time it was the Rutland Tour.

Although I organise and lead day excursions to destinations all over the country (coming up are Ludlow, Salisbury and Thetford Forest Tour), there are some people who prefer not to be out all day.

It is these people who particularly enjoy the morning trips, which last from 9.30am to 2pm.

Obviously, we can`t go very far in that time, but participants do see a good amount of the beautiful and historic East Midlands.

On the Rutland trip, we started as usual from St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester, and travelled by country lanes over Billesdon Coplow and through to Tilton-on-the-Hill, then through Oakham to Barnsdale Gardens, where we made our coffee stop.

Barnsdale Gardens were made famous by the late TV personality Geoff Hamilton, and are still run by his son Nick and daughter-in-law Sue.

Then we did a round trip around the little county, passing through innumerable pretty villages and the market town of Uppingham, and going round Rutland Water.

My Visitors` Book has such comments as "very pleasant half day tour", "hope you do many more" and "pleasant and relaxing".

The next morning trip is "Northamptonshire Delights Tour", on Thursday 14th August.
