A Taste of Leicestershire for Leek Group
I led one of my popular Coach Trips in association with Greatdays recently, around Leicestershire and Rutland.
It was "A Taste of Leicestershire", and was for a group from Leek.
I met the coach at Wanlip Services, and took them through the ancient city of Leicester and outstanding market town of Market Harborough before making a brief stop at the idyllic village of Hallaton.
Then it was a drive around High Leicestershire before stopping at Scalford Hall for lunch.
Driving into Melton Mowbray, I took the group to Dickinson and Morris, Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, where everybody was presented with a pork pie and I gave a brief explanation of the connection between pork pies and Stilton cheese.
The final stop was at Oakham, the county town of the tiny county of Rutland.
I thoroughly enjoy leading this tour, and will be very happy do so for your own group.
