Witham Station (Witham)

Witham Station is the railway station serving the busy Essex town of Witham.

It is in the old Chipping Hill area, where the mound of Edward the Elder`s burh was cut through for the railway line.

Trains from London leave from Liverpool Street Station and arrive by way of Romford, Brentwood and Chelmsford.

They continue to Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich.

A branch line runs from here to White Notley, Cressing and Braintree.

Another branch line, closed in 1964, ran to Wickham Bishops, Langford and Maldon.
