Wickham Bishops

Wickham Bishops is a village in Essex, on the River Blackwater and halfway between Maldon and Witham.

The mediaeval St. Bartholomew`s Church is now derelict, but there is a 19th century church by Ewan Christian.

Wickam Bishops Hall dates from the 17th century, and is on the site of a manor house of the Bishops of London. It was Simon of Sudbury`s favourite house before he became Archbishop of Canterbury.
