St. Bartholomews Church (Quorn)
St. Bartholomew’s is the parish church of the famous Leicestershire village of Quorn.
It has, however, only been the parish church since the 19th century, having previously been a chapel of ease, to which priests walked from Barrow-upon-Soar to take services.
The church is built of the local Mountsorrel granite, and has some Norman work, including a Norman South doorway and priest’s doorway. Most of the structure, however, dates from the 14th century.
There is a fine chapel, the Farnham Chapel, containing monuments of the powerful local Farnham family.
St. Bartholomew’s is used jointly by the Church of England and the Methodists.
