Minster Abbey (Minster-in-Thanet)

Minster Abbey is very old building at Minster-in-Thanet, on the Isle of Thanet in Kent.

A confusing place. There was a Minster Abbey from the 7th century until the early 12th century, but this is not it.

The present buildings were built in the Norman period, but were a grange for St. Augustines Abbey at Canterbury.

The complex became an abbey, occupied by Benedictine nuns, in the 1930s.
