Woodhouse Eaves (A Guided Walk in Woodhouse Eaves)
"Woodhouse Eaves" is a most enjoyable Guided Walk, devised and led by the prolific Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These strolls are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The walk starts at St. Paul's Church at Woodhouse Eaves in Leicestershire. The church can be found in Church Hill at the South end of the village, on the road that leads to Swithland.
Woodhouse Eaves, unlike its older neighbour Woodhouse, is a relatively new settlement in Charnwood Forest. It developed in the 19th century as a place of recuperation from health problems for people from Leicester, Nottingham and Derby.
The walk looks at much of this attractive village, as well as some of the lovely countryside which surrounds it, and the spectacular cave underneath the church.
Colin also leads a Guided Walk around Woodhouse Eaves and Woodhouse, entitled "The Woodhouses".
