Waterside Market Harborough (A Guided Walk in Market Harborough)
“Waterside Market Harborough” is a Guided Walk devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, as part of his popular Waterside Walks series.
These strolls are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The starting point is outside the Angel Hotel, in Market Harborough High Street.
A short stroll past a pond leads to the Canal Basin, which is actually the terminus of a canal branch. In the last few years the basin has been beautifully renovated and is in constant use as a busy marina.
The walk takes in some of the canal, with countryside views on one side and gardens leading down to the water on the other. The return route touches the village of Great Bowden.
Colin also leads a walk around the historic town centre, which is called simply “Market Harborough”.
And he also leads a number of other Waterside Walks, namely “Waterside Abbey Park”, “Waterside Aylestone”, “Waterside Belgrave”, “Waterside Birstall”, “Waterside Charnwood”, “Waterside Glenhills”, “Waterside Glen Parva”, “Waterside Hinckley”, “Waterside Leicester”, “Waterside London”, “Waterside Loughborough”, “Waterside Loughborough and Barrow-upon-Soar”, “Waterside Mountsorrel”, “Waterside Quorn and Barrow-upon-Soar”, “Waterside Thurmaston” and “Waterside Thurmaston”.
