Palm Sunday in Leicester
There was a Palm Sunday event in Leicester City Centre on the afternoon of the Sunday before Easter.
My wife Anne and I, with friends, took part.
It consisted of a group of actors, including one playing Jesus with a donkey, walking in the centre carrying palm branches, to symbolise the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem to popular acclaim.
The route took in Leicester Cathedral, Gallowtree Gate, the Clock Tower and Humberstone Gate.
The event was largely a trailer for the major "Christ in the Centre" re-enactment which is held annually in the City Centre on Good Friday.
