Everyone Loved Staffordshire Borders Tour
Another of my popular morning Coach Trips took place recently.
This time it was "Staffordshire Borders Tour". These Borders tours have their own magic, and this was a new one.
After leaving St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 9.30am, we took a route going out through Charnwood Forest close to Groby and Markfield, then through Coalville and Swannington before viewing the town centre of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
Then it was up towards Staffordshire, seeing the famous Moira Furnace, before arriving at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, for the coffee stop.
Our arrival was timed to be just a few minutes before 11am, so that we could all take part in the daily act of remembrance.
After that, we took an interesting route through Lichfield, Tamworth, Polesworth and Market Bosworth, before returning to Leicester for 2pm.
My Visitors' Book drew such comments as "another wonderful and informative trip especially with the stop at the Memorial Arboretum", "a very interesting Coach Trip, hope to do more" and "most interesting as always".
Forthcoming tips include "York", "Kent Tour", "Southwell and Newark" and "Norfolk Lavender".
