Newport Station (Newport (Essex))

Newport Station is the railway station that serves the picturesque village of Newport (Essex).

Trains from London leave from Liverpool Street Station, and arrive by way of Stratford (Essex), Harlow and Bishops Stortford.

They continue to Audley End, Great Chesterton and Cambridge.

A branch line formerly ran to Henham, Cutlers Green and Thaxted. This closed in 1952.

Another, closed in 1964, ran to Saffron Walden, Ashdon and Bartlow.
