Melton Carnegie Museum (Melton Mowbray)
The Melton Carnegie Museum is situated in the attractive market town of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.
It can be found at the end of Sherrard Street, leading Eastwards from the busy Market Place.
The museum was originally a Carnegie Library, one of the many public libraries up and down the country paid for by the Scottish-American millionaire Andrew Carnegie, born in Dunfermline.
Other libraries in the county for which he can be thanked are at Leicester and Loughborough.
The museum has many exhibits about the town and surrounding area, and in particular has a very interesting section on the history of foxhunting.
