Church Street (Melton Mowbray)

Church Street is a short thoroughfare in the busy Leicestershire market town of Melton Mowbray.

It runs from the Market Place to the outstanding St Marys Church.

The ironstone building beside Church Street is a remnant of the Swan Inn, which took up the whole island between streets and had a local government function in the Middle Ages.

This fragment was used as the town's storehouse for weapons during the Civil War.
