Town Walls (Caernarfon)
The Town Walls in Caernarfon enclose the original town, dominated by Edward I's Caernarfon Castle.
The walls were built between 1286 and 1300, and are almost entirely intact.
The total length is about 800 yards.
Today, most of the shops etc are outside the walls, but there are still businesses, many tourist related, within the old town area.
There are several arches giving access to the old town, and the main entrance is from Y Maes.
