Waltham-on-the-Wolds
Waltham-on-the-Wolds is an attractive village in Leicestershire, 5 miles from Melton Mowbray
Many of the houses are built of the local ironstone, and some are thatched.
The village formerly boasted a market, and still had an annual horse and cattle fair until 1921.
St. Mary Magdalene's Church is large and dates from the 13th century, with Norman doorways and fine carvings. The crocketed spire was badly damaged in the 2008 earthquake and is to be replaced.
Just outside the village is a very tall television mast.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Waltham-on-the-Wolds for groups.
