Oadby
Oadby is a small town on the Southern edge of Leicester.
The suffix "by" is common in parts of Leicestershire, and shows that it was a Danish settlement.
St. Peter's Church dates back to the early 13th century.
Leicester Racecourse is in Oadby, having moved earlier in the 20th century from Victoria Park, closer to Leicester City Centre.
Also just within Oadby are most of the Halls of Residence of Leicester University, as well as the superb Harold Martin Botanical Gardens.
