Chalkwell
Chalkwell is a seaside resort, and suburb of Southend in Essex. It is situated between the better known Westcliff and Leigh.
The beach is popular locally.
On the beach is the Crowstone, an obelisk marking the seaward end of the jusrisdiction of the Port of London. Its predecessor is now in Priory Park.
Chalkwell Park is a very pleasant public park, created out of the gardens of Chalkwell Hall. There are excellent views across the estuary of the River Thames to Kent.
