Chalkwell Park (Chalkwell)

Chalkwell Park is a very attractive urban park at Chalkwell, a district of Southend.

The main entrance is in London Road.

It was created from the gardens of Chalkwell Hall, a Grade II listed building, which is approached by a tree lined avenue that was planted in the 1830s.

There is a large rose garden, as well as a wildflower meadow and three ponds.

Sport is well catered for with facilities for cricket (Essex used to play here), football, tennis, baseball and street style skating.

There are wonderful views across the River Thames to Kent.
