Bisham

[An image showing Bisham]Bisham is a village in Berkshire, 5 miles from Maidenhead, on the River Thames and with woody hills as a backdrop.

It is situated across the river from Marlow, to which it is connected by the 1836 Suspension Bridge.

All Saints Church has a Norman tower, and it has a fine collection of monuments to the Hoby family. The churchyard is beside the river.

Bisham Abbey, mostly Elizabethan but incorporating remnants of a 14th century priory on the site of a preceptory of the Knights Templar, is now a well known training centre for physical recreation.
