Belvoir
Belvoir is a hamlet in the North East corner of Leicestershire, close to the border with Lincolnshire.
It lies 6 miles to the West of Grantham.
Belvoir is not pronounced in the expected way, but as "Beaver", which always confuses people who do not live in the East Midlands.
It stands outside the gates of the fabulous Belvoir Castle, ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland.
Below stretches the Vale of Belvoir. Views over the Vale into Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire produced the name "Belvoir", meaning "beautiful view".
