Sandwich (A Coach Trip in Sandwich)
"Sandwich" is one of the very poppular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a wonderful way of soaking up some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, centrally placed in Leicester City Centre, at 8am, and is due back about 9pm.
Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the fascinating places and sights that might oherwise drift past unnoticed. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s trips quite unique.
Sandwich is a lovely old town in Kent, and was one of the original Cinque Ports, although it is now two miles from the sea. It retains three mediaeval churches in the town centre, and a huge number of picturesque houses.
As part of the day, Colin leads a Guided Walk around Sandwich, pointing out many places of interest, including St. Clements Church, St. Peters Church, St. Marys Church, the Fisher Gate and the Barbican.
