Cirencester (A Coach Trip in Cirencester)
“Cirencester” is a Coach Trip devised and led by Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, the well-known Blue Badge Guide.
These excursions are an enjoyable way of learning some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am, and is due back about 9.30pm.
Colin will be giving his usual commentary along the way, as the coach wends its way through the lovely English countryside. Cirencester is in Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Cirencester was one of the most important towns in Roman Britain. At that time it was known as Corinium. Today it is a busy market town.
A feature of Colin’s trips to historic towns is his Guided Walk. On the walk around Cirencester he will be pointing out many places of interest, including the magnificent St. John the Baptist Church, the Market Place, Corinium Museum, Cecily Hill, Roman remains and an extraordinary yew hedge.
The trip takes place on Market Day, giving an extra dimension to the sightseeing opportunities.
