Guided Walk Around Ashby-de-la-Zouch
I led a private Guided Walk around the historic old market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch recently.
It was for members of Soar Valley U3A.
I first showed participants some of the very interesting features inside St. Helens Church, including the Countess of Huntingdon`s grave and the very rare finger pillory.
From there, we walked around the town, viewing such sights as Ashby-de-la-Zouch Castle, where Sir Walter Scott set scenes in "Ivanhoe", as well as the old station and the impressive Loudoun Memorial.
I am happy to lead this walk for other groups. Do get in touch if you are interested.
