Enjoyable Day Touring Yorkshire
I went as a passenger recently on a Coach Trip run by Woods Coaches of Leicester. This time it was a tour around parts of Yorkshire.
Although I do of course run my own extensive programme of Coach Trips, and thoroughly enjoy doing so, it is always rather nice to be able to sit back and be taken without having any responsibility for anything!
On this occasion, having left St. Margarets Bus Station we moved Northwards and stopped at Tibshelf Services, allowing me to stoke up with a good breakfast.
Our first stop was at the historic market town of Knaresborough. Once I had partaken of a coffee at Hannah`s tea shop, in a 17th century building just off the Market Place, I had a stroll around, visiting the ruins of Knaresborough Castle and the rather splendid St. John the Baptist Church.
Then it was on over the moors to Grassington, where we were all rather surprised to find that the toilets in the sizeable car / coach park were closed. I had a stroll around the cobbled streets of this charming village, and had a coffee at a tea shop called the Yorkshire Lass.
From there we moved on towards Leeds (Yorkshire), stopping at Guiseley for a fish and chips meal at the famous Harry Ramsden`s.
And after making a short stop at Tibshelf again, it was back home to Leicester.
Once again, I had a very nice day.
