Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing (Polperro)
The Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing is a popular attraction at the delightful village of Polperro in Cornwall.
It is situated on the harbour in a 16th century house once owned by the grandfather of Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, and at one time used as a pilchard factory.
The heady days of smuggling are recalled, including the notorious 18th century smugglers` leader Zapheniah Job, and Tom Potter, who was executed for murdering a revenue officer in 1798.
Also on display is "Ryder", the former Looe lifeboat, built in 1902.
