Margate Station (Margate)

Margate Station is the railway station that serves the Isle of Thanet seaside resort of Margate.

It was built by John Newton in 1864, and rebuilt in 1926.

Trains from London leave from Victoria Station, and arrive by way of Rochester, Faversham and Herne Bay.

They continue to Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Dover.

There was formerly another station named Margate East.

Two other former stations, Margate Sands and Hall by the Sea, provided trains on another line to Ramsgate.
