London Eye (London)
The London Eye is a spectacular and hugely popular tourist attraction in London.
It is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames, close to County Hall and Westminster Bridge.
One of the many projects to mark the Millennium (another is the iconic National Space Centre in Leicester), the London Eye is a gigantic wheel, of the kind usually known as "ferris wheel".
It was designed by Julia Barfield and David Marks.
The London Eye revolves through a vertical circle every forty five minutes, and gives wonderful views across London and the Home Counties.
