College of Arms (London)
The College of Arms is a historic building in the City of London.
It is situated in Queen Victoria Street, at the junction with the footpath that leads from St. Pauls Cathedral to the Millennium Bridge.
The College was founded by Richard III in the late 15th century. Its original building, Derby Place, was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666,
The present building was designed by Frances Sandford and Morris Emmett and built in the 1670s to house the English Officers of Arms and their records.
The Earl Marshal`s Court is two storeys high.
The magnificent gates were a gift from an American millionaire.
