War Memorial (Leicester)

The War Memorial in Leicester is situated at the top of a hill overlooking the heart of the city.
It is on the edge of Victoria Park, and close to De Montfort Hall.
The Memorial is open at the centre, and represents Leicester's empty heart, after so many husbands, fathers, sons and brothers were killed.
Leicester's War Memorial was designed by Edwin Lutyens. He was also responsible for the Cenotaph in London and the War Memorial at Southend.
