New Walk Centre (Leicester)
New Walk Centre is the administrative headquarters of Leicester City Council.
It consists of two tall office blocks, known perhaps not surprisingly as A Block and B Block, with a courtyard between them, in Leicester City Centre.
The complex was not built as council offices, but the speculative builder who constructed them found it difficult to find tenants, so the City Council, whose offices had been spread around the central area, took the premises over.
New Walk Centre stands where Belvoir Street turns round the corner and becomes Welford Road. There is an entrance here, in Welford Place, and another in King Street.
