Lotus Flowers (Leicester)
The Lotus Flowers are an art installation in Leicester, on the roundabout below the flyover where Belgrave Gate is crossed by the inner ring road.
They were erected by the City Council around 2000.
Lighting up at night, they serve to give a bright and cheerful welcome to visitors to two distinct areas.
Coming from the Belgrave area, the welcome is to Leicester City Centre, with its modern shopping as well as the much acclaimed Leicester Market.
For those travelling away from the City Centre, the welcome is to the Golden Mile area of Belgrave, with its fabulous collection of sari shops, jewellers and sweet shops, as well as some of the best Indian restaurants in England.
