The Munt (Kibworth)
The Munt is a grassed over mound in the Leicestershire village of Kibworth.
It stands in a field beside the road at Kibworth Harcourt. The road was an 18th century bypass and is routed between Kibworth Harcourt and its sister village of Kibworth Beauchamp.
The Munt is actually the motte of a small Norman motte and bailey castle. It can be reached along a footpath from either the main road or the village street.
The Jarrow Marchers stopped here on their way from the North East to London, to protest to the Government about lack of jobs.
