St. John the Baptist Church (Hugglescote)
St. John the Baptist is the parish church of the Leicestershire village of Hugglescote, now a suburb of Coalville.
It was built of the local Bardon Hill stone in the late 19th century by the Leicester architect J. B. Everard, replacing an earlier church down the hill towards the little River Sence, near where the cemetery is today.
A striking church, it looks particularly impressive when viewed from the Bardon area.
It is situated where Dennis Street meets Grange Road, which was part of the old turnpike road between Leicester and Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
The parish also includes Donington-le-Heath, Ellistown and Snibston, where the tiny St. Mary's Church dates back to the 12th century.
