St. Peters Church (Hockley)
St. Peters Church is the parish church of Hockley in South East Essex.
It stands away from the present centre, in the original village site. It is an excellent position, overlooking the tidal estuary of the River Crouch and the hills beyond towards Maldon.
St. Peters dates back to the 13th century.
The West tower is fairly short, but changes from square to octagonal, with battlements and a shingled parapet spire.
There is a 13th century font.
