Almonry (Evesham)
The Almonry is a picturesque 14th century timber-framed house in the attractive Worcestershire town of Evesham.
Situated in Vine Street, with a little garden in front, it is a survivor from Evesham Abbey, the great Benedictine house of which the Bell Tower still stands nearby.
The Almonry was actually outside the Abbey Gate, and existed to give food or money to the poor and sick who came to the Abbey for help.
In 1952, the Almonry became the town museum, and now also functions as the Tourist Information Centre.
