Devonshire Royal Hospital (Buxton)

The Devonshire Royal Hospital is a historic building in the elegant spa town of Buxton.

It is situated in Devonshire Road.

Originally built as stables for the Duke of Devonshire, and serving the nearby Crescent, it was converted into a hospital in 1859.

There is a large circular colonnade, topped with a spectacular, enormous dome, which was added in 1880 along with the clock tower.

It now functions as the University of Derby Buxton campus.
