Potters Bar
Potters Bar is a commuter town in Hertfordshire, 6 miles from Waltham Cross and close to the M25.
The name probably comes from a gate into Enfield Chase in the 16th century, owned by a man named Potter.
Until the 1850s, it was no more than a hamlet, but has grown enormously since then.
King Charles the Martyr Church was built in the 1940s.
Wrtham Park is an elegant mansion built in 1754 for Admiral John Byng. It has appeared in several films, notably " Peter`s Friends", "Gosford Park" and Bridget Jones`s Diary".
A train crash here in 2002 killed seven people and injured over a hundred.
