Markfield
Markfield is a village in Leicestershire, a few miles from Leicester and on the edge of Charnwood Forest.
St. Michael's Church, beside the Village Green, was much restored in 1865, but dates back to 1215. John Wesley peached here 13 times.
Markfield was the birthplace of the theologian Thomas Hooker, who became curate at Chelmsford and later founded Hartford, Connecticut in the United States.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Markfield for groups.
