Great Baddow
Great Baddow is a large village in Essex, 2 miles from Chelmsford, of which it is now virtually a suburb.
St. Mary`s Church has exceptionally fine Tudor brickwork, with stepped battlements. The church was used as a meeting place at the outset of the Peasants` Revolt.
There are a number of attractive 18th century houses in the village.
In 1326, a local man, Richard de Baddow, founded a hall at Cambridge which later became Clare College.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Great Baddow for groups.
