Glooston

Glooston is a tiny village in Leicestershire, hidden away in the folds of the lovely but sparsely populated High Leicestershire.

The nearest town is Market Harborough, but the nearest villages are the equally tiny Cranoe and Stonton Wyville.

St. John the Baptist Church dates from about 1300, but was much restored in the 19th century by the Leicester architect Joseph Goddard.

Glooston is close to the Via Devana, the Roman road from Leicester to Colchester, and a Roman villa was discovered here in 1946.
