Colin Crosby Heritage Tours

Brightlingsea is an old maritime town on the Essex coast, where Flag Creek flows into the estuary of the River Colne, and 8 miles from Colchester.

It is a limb of the Cinque Ports, specifically of Sandwich, and the only member of this ancient federation not situated in Kent or Sussex.

Once famous for its oysters, it is now best known as a sailing centre.

All Saints Church, a mile inland, dates from the Norman period and has a 15th century tower, which is 94 feet tall.

Jacob`s Hall is a timber framed house which dates back to the 14th century.
