Rochester (A Coach Trip in Rochester)
"Rochester" is one of the many Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These trips are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 8am, and is expected back at about 9pm.
Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the fascinating sights and places encountered along the route. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s trips quite unique.
Rochester is an ancient city in Kent, dating back to Roman times, being on the famous Watling Street. Its cathedral was the second to be founded in England, and there is an impressive Norman castle.
The city features heavily in the works of Charles Dickens.
As part of the excursion, Colin leads a Guided Walk around Rochester, pointing out many places of interest, including Rochester Cathedral; Rochester Castle; the Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel; the Chertsey Gate; and the picturesque High Street.
